Telehealth Psychology Booking Policy

Effective Date:
20 December 2025

  • Psychological therapy works best when it is held within clear, respectful, and mutually understood boundaries.
This booking policy is here to:

    • Support continuity and depth of therapeutic work

    • Ensure fair and thoughtful use of appointment times

    • Honour the time, preparation, and care set aside for each client

    • Sustain an ethical and responsive psychology practice

Clear agreements help create a sense of safety, reliability, and trust — all important foundations for meaningful therapeutic work.

    • All appointments are offered via telehealth.

    • Appointments may be booked up to 12 hours in advance, depending on availability.

    • Each session time is held specifically for you.

    • Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment.

    • Once payment is received, your session time is confirmed.

    • Appointments may be rescheduled up to 48 hours before the scheduled session time.

    • Cancellations prior to 48 hours can request a credit which can be used at a later date.

    • Cancellations or reschedules within 48 hours of the appointment will incur the full session fee.

    • If you are unable to attend your session or forget your appointment, this is treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

    • Fees for late cancellations or missed appointments are not refundable.

    • These fees are not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates, in line with rebate guidelines.

    • The full fee applies regardless of the reason for late cancellation, including illness, work changes, or unexpected personal circumstances.

    • Please ensure you are ready to begin your session on time and are in a private, quiet space.

    • Sessions will finish at the scheduled end time, even if you join late.

    • If technical issues arise, reasonable efforts will be made to reconnect within the session time.

    • By booking a session, you consent to receiving psychological services via telehealth.

    • You acknowledge that telehealth involves the use of technology and that, while care is taken to protect privacy and security, there are some inherent limitations.

    • You are responsible for having a suitable device, reliable internet connection, and a private environment for sessions.

    • Sessions are conducted in line with professional confidentiality and privacy obligations.

    • Clients are asked to take reasonable steps to protect their privacy during telehealth sessions, including ensuring others cannot overhear.

    • If you are claiming Medicare rebates, it is your responsibility to ensure your referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan are current at the time of your session.

    • Rebates cannot be processed without the appropriate documentation.

    • Telehealth psychology sessions are not designed to provide crisis or emergency support.

    • If you are experiencing significant distress or feel unsafe, please contact emergency services (000) or Lifeline (13 11 14).

    • If safety concerns arise during a session, appropriate steps will be taken in line with professional responsibilities.

  • By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Booking Policy.
